Outer West pool was commissioned by Newburn UDC and opened in 1970 it has recently been refurbished with a new Impulse fitness suite and family friendly changing rooms. It has three pools; the main, 6-lane competition pool Newcastle’s longest at 33.3 metres, beginners teaching pool and a 25m training tank for schools, clubs and after school lessons. 
The facility offers something for everybody, from 6 month old babies to senior citizens, with an all-encompassing programme of activities designed to cater for the whole community. The Impulse is a state of the art gym with fully qualified instructors and has a variety of fitness classes for all levels and ages and a sauna suite. Here at Outer West our aim is for you to have a safe and enjoyable family experience every time you visit.
