Hockey @ Centre for Sport

The Centre for Sport is the centre for hockey development within the City of Newcastle. Hockey for juniors and seniors, men and women is available here on two nights of the week. Monday evenings see the men’s team train, while the senior women and junior development sessions take place on Wednesdays.

Men only: Monday 7.30pm – 9pm
Women only: Wednesday 7.00pm – 8.30pm
Under 12s: Wednesday 5.00pm – 6pm (boys and girls)
Under 16s: Wednesday 6.00pm – 7pm (boys and girls)

Matches are played generally on Saturdays and Sundays, so hockey provides you with a great way to take part in regular exercise and keep fit!

Junior session fees are payable at reception prior to going out to the pitch.

Newcastle Hockey Club
The centre is actively supporting hockey development in local schools in the West End of Newcastle. Casual hockey sessions take place every week, where children can learn many skills, which are necessary for participation in a team. Sessions are available for beginners and those under 12 years old.

Newcastle Hockey Club is based at the Centre where they play all their league and cup matches.

The men's team is looking for new players. Please contact the Centre if you are interested.

Leagues - Harper League
Games are played at the Centre for Sport on Thursday evenings.
