As the name suggests this is an aerobic exercise in water. Not only a great way to get fit but it is also one of the safest. It keeps the heart and lungs healthy whilst toning the body and reducing fat. Using routines similar to land aerobics workouts can include ‘jumping jacks’, ‘cross county skiing motion’ and walking and running backwards and forwards.
Workouts also commonly feature special water devices such as ‘noodles’ or ‘woggles’ which are used to aid flotation and resistance. We only use appropriately qualified staff.
These are based on exercise in water. They may be run by a local midwife or by an exercise teacher who has undergone a specific course on teaching pregnant women. So why take part if your pregnant ? The water will help support your weight, gentle stretching exercises make you feel good and can help keep you fit and supple for the birth.
We have a Aquanatal class Wednesday 11:00am - 12noon and Aquafit Friday 12noon - 12:45pm.
