Our city centre facility based in the heart of Newcastle's Eldon Square shopping centre. The original home of Impulse Fitness where the gym operation has grown to its present format of a huge fitness suite accompanied by an equally impressive free weight  Progression zone.  The fitness suite also offers our very popular members only changing area including an exclusive sauna facility. 

Eldon also boasts Newcastle's finest indoor climbing wall proudly sponsored by Berghaus.   There are a wide range of fitness classes to choose from, catering for all ages and ability levels led by some of the North Easts finest instructors.   We offer many other activities including 5-a-side football, racquet sports, indoor bowls and an impressive array of martial art clubs.  Whether you are participating or just watching, we will do all we can to ensure your visit is both pleasant and enjoyable. Why not relax in the Impulse Cafe situated near reception after your workout and try some of the healthy and delicious meal options on offer. 

The centre is open to the public for up to 14 hours per day, 7 days a week, serving the whole community. You do not have to be a member to use our facilities. We welcome everyone as a guest and provide you with the necessary facility and equipment.

Newcastle Leisure operates a LeisurePlus membership system throughout all the leisure facilities including Eldon Leisure. The advantages of being a LeisurePlus member include:

      LeisurePlus members can book up to 7 days in advance, either by telephone or in person and ‘pay when you play’.
      

      Cancellations

      At least 24 hours notice of cancellations is required.

  Equipment for sale or hire

  Sports equipment can be hired from reception for a returnable deposit, plus a hire charge. LeisurePlus members can use their card as a deposit. Squash balls, shuttles etc. also available for purchase.
